GST Introduction

Goods and Services tax (GST), which is also famous for remarkable decision and is now in front of us. After president provides his speech on 8th September, 2016, the Government is all set and keep trying to implement GST till 1st April, 2017.  But, this implementation process is bit of early for the tax payers those who are already existed in the market.

The taxpayers will have to make their enrolment completed through GST by this month in the database. Chhattisgarh state government has already declared the last date of 29th November, 2016, and made announcement for all the tax payers who are existing previously within the state to make their enrollment via www.goacomtax.gov.in.

Who are eligible for enrollment?

All those taxpayers who are existing in the system are liable to enroll themselves in GST system web portal. An existing taxpayer is an presently registered with one of the following tax payers organization;

  • Central Excise Tax
  • Service Tax
  • State sales tax/VAT (except exclusive liquor dealers)
  • Entry tax
  • Luxury Tax
  • Entertainment tax

Moreover the enrollment means by checking and validating the correct information of existing taxpayers and completing the remaining fields properly.

Last date of enrollment process

If you are a taxpayer in Haryana, then you must have to read the released announcement in the notification and make enrolled before 31st December, 2016.

Complete Process for GST Enrollment Through Tax Portal

A) Paperless Process:The complete system of enrollment will support paperless procedure; means no hard copies will be required by the respective organization. Moreover, all the details for already registered taxpayers will be available in the GST web portal. All they have to do is make your visit there before last date.

Also, it is compulsory for each and every candidate to make registration if the annual turnover is more than Rs 20 lakh, the exemption limit.

B) Provisional ID and password:Before going to the GST portal, you are needed to have the provisional ID and password along with you provided to you by your respective state concern department.

In Haryana, all the registered taxpayers will have to make their visit to the government department between 16th December and 31st December, 2016, to get their sealed document which holds your provisional ID and password.

C) Documents and Details Needed:To complete the registration process, you must have the following details:

  • Provisional ID as guided in section B.
  • Password as guided in section B.
  • Valid email ID (it could not be off professional – Make sure to use your email address)
  • Working mobile number
  • Valid Bank account number
  • With IFSC code

Moreover, also keep the following information or documents which are required during your visit on portal and needed to be uploaded on the web portal:

  • Proof of your business/certificate:
  • In case of partnership – partnership id (in PDF / JPEG format of maximum size of 1 MB).
  • In other cases: registration certificate of the respective business entity (PDF / JPEG format of maximum file size 1 MB).
  • Also recent photograph of promoters/partners of HUF (needed in JPEG format of maximum size 100 KB).
  • Proof of appointed authorized signatory (in PDF / JPEG format of maximum file size 1 MB).
  • Keep photograph of authorized signatory (in JPEG format of maximum size of 100 KB).
  • Front page of account holder passbook which consist of the following details about particulars:
  • Respective Bank account number
  • Branch Address
  • Account holder complete address
  • Few transaction information

(in PDF / JPEG format of having maximum file size of 1 MB).

D) Fill Details and submit:After completing the form submit it with all the required details and documents needed for it, then after an acknowledgement number will be generated. Save that number for your future reference.

  1. What to do if I have not got any respective ID and password?

If you have not received any provisional ID and password, then contact your local regional official.

  1. Who is the primary authorized signatory?

A primary authorized signatory is the candidate who is primarily responsible to make changes on the GST web portal as taxpayer or on behalf of that. Then all information from the GST Portal related to tax will be sent to him or taxpayer.

For example, in case of owner, the owner himself or any person authorized by him is responsible; in partnership cases, any authorized partner or any respective authorized candidates by partners; in case of Company/LLP, Society, Trust, the candidate who is authorized by committee or Governing official, etc., will act as primary authorized signatory. A copy of authorization required to be uploaded in portal.

  1. Which information is filled previously in the enrolment application for during GST registration process?

Following information are auto-filled in the enrolment form depending on your existing details:

  • Business PAN number
  • Full legal name of your business
  • Registered State
  • Reason of liability to get registration
  • Emailid and mobile number
  1. Will I able to make changes in my name, state name and PAN in the enrollment during application submission?

You cannot make changes in legal name, state name and PAN which shown in the enrollment application. This information have been migrated from existing tax systems of State / Center, as in the present system.

Enrollment is only just a process which is needed to follow; however, the real thing will start from 1st April, 2017 when it come in front of world.
