SC Order To Centre Government To Seed All Mobile Number To Aadhaar Card
SC Says, Government Will Have To Register The Details of Identity Of 100 Crore Mobile Phone Subscribers
Supreme Court has said to centre Government to prepare the policy within one year to stop the SIM card mis-usage which is normally done on frequent basis. And must have to define rule and regulation in it. Court has instructed the government that they must have to register the identity detail (aadhaar) of 100 crore mobile phone subscriber within one year. Court has also said that SIM card verification is also become more important because now banking process can be done through the help of it.
Fill Form From Pre-Paid Subscriber
Supreme Court has instructed the government that they will made such rules within one year period, so that SIM card cannot be used with wrong intention.
Court has also instructed the centre that they will prepare such a system in which every prepaid subscriber will have to fill and submit the form before the recharge.
Chief justice JS Khehar headed (अध्यक्षता) bench has said that this could also be implemented in phases and subscribers will be provided with six months time for verification.
Bench has also said that if the subscriber will not complete the verification process, then his recharge facility must be stopped.
Lokniti Foundation Has Filed The PIL (पीआईएल)
A bench of chief justice has provided this suggestion on PIL filed in July 2016, by lokniti foundation.
It is clearly said the PIL that within country more than five crore prepaid subscriber are using mobile phones without proper verification.
In the PIL Court interference has been asked to stop the unverified SIM card usage in mobile phone.
Fear Of Unverified Cell Numbers Misue
The bench has also expressed concern about the potential for abuse of unverified cell numbers.
Bench said that such subscriber also given a chance for mobile number verification during recharge.
Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi has told the court that the government will complete the process of verification in a year.
During the hearing, Rohatgi admitted that it is a tricky affair, because 90% of mobile subscribers are prepaid customers.
Rohatgi has made it clear that the aadhaar for all new cell phone subscribers will be required to complete the process based on Kyc .
Court has also asked the centre what system will be implemented for the scrutiny of mobile user’s identity. So the decision on that is still pending from the government end. And soon we will hear something about this from the government with some new rules as well. So that no more mobile number can be used for fake or illegal works.
Many of terrorist activities have been stopped by implementing this step. And similar more such kind of initiative can be controlled easily. So get ready your aadhar card for having new SIM for yourself.
